Police chief, sheriff, pediatric surgeon address public in response to shootings involving Wichita children

Wichita Police Chief Joe Sullivan, Sedgwick County Sheriff Jeff Easter and a pediatric trauma surgeon at Wesley Children’s Hospital are speaking out to emphasize the importance of responsible firearm storage.

“We are seeing an alarming increase in firearm injuries, particularly among children harming other children,” said Dr. Kim Molik, pediatric trauma surgeon from Wesley Children's. “We have already treated six pediatric firearm injuries. These are tragic numbers for incidents that are entirely preventable.”
