Pediatric Infusion Therapy at Wesley Children's Hospital
Located on the 6th floor of Wesley Children's Hospital, Building 1, the pediatric infusion department provides safe, monitored infusion of prescribed medications, blood, fluids and therapies for patients under the care of a pediatric physician. The department is staffed by pediatric nurses and child life specialists, assisted by pharmacy team members, to provide a depth of expertise and experience.
While patients receive treatment, they might visit with a child life specialist, our facility dog, Carl, or a music therapist. Other options for passing the time include movies, games and other activities.
Pediatric infusion procedures
Our pediatric sedation nurses, along with Child Life specialists, accomplish these infusions with skill and caring in a child-friendly setting. APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses) chemo certified nurses administer outpatient chemotherapy infusion.
